I know everyone hears stories about nursing homes. Some are real and some aren't. I was able to experience several encounters.
One of them happened on the night shift. It was about 3:30 a.m. when myself and another aide were sitting at the nurses station doing our paper work. We were sitting side by side with our backs to the opening to the station. For some reason, I looked up and thought I saw this tall dark slender shadow. It was only from waist up. Anyway, it was just briefly. I looked at my friend (the other aide) and said, Man I must be getting too tired. I just thought I saw someone behind you. She turned and looked at me with a serious expression and said, It felt like someone was standing over me!
Shortly after this conversation, we both saw the dark figure leaning against the outside of the nurses station. We were sure who the spirit was and found out later that morning that it had been seen in the laundry room, just feet from the nurses station and in a residents room several days later by a resident. She was being assisted from her bed to her wheelchair by the DON and another aide around 6:30 in the morning. She asked the DON who the dark man in her room was. When the staff turned to look, there was no one there.
That was the last time he was seen at the home. Residents come and go, but some tend to stay a bit longer after they're GONE!
